There was some great golf played in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Rickie Fowler produced some stunning golf over the weekend for a sixteen under par total which was good enough for a one stroke victory over Thomas Pieters who also had an outstanding thirteen under par weekend shooting 64 and 67. Rory McIIroy and Henrik Stenson shared third on fourteen under par with Jordan Spieth sharing fifth place, neither Rory or Jordan seemed to be right on top of their respective games and they both seemed to miss a hatful of putts, yet both still finished in the top ten of what was a very strong field, it's going to be a great year to watch golf.
Steve Ray leads the way, there was some excellent scoring in Saturday's Winter Stableford, especially in Division I where Steve Ray scored 42 pts to edge out Gav Heaton 41 pts and Danny Phillips 40 pts, Paul Cooper 35 pts topped Division II from Keith Manning and Danny Huddlestone on 33 pts. Danny maintained his lead in the overall Winter Series which is the best four scores out of the six events, there are two more to be played in February and the leading scores could well change as there are quite a few players that have only played three events so far, please see below for the leading scorers so far.
The Two's Sweep qualifiers and winners were Andy Hunt, John McCann, Dave Lamb, Andy Everett, Lee Woodward, Steve Ray & Gav Heaton.
Game Improvement this winter - 4 Lessons for the Price of 3
Why not use this winter to work on your game, identify the different aspects which would improve you're scoring/handicap but most of all the enjoyment of the game, we all feel better when we play well but this doesn't just happen it often takes hard work. New clubs can make a difference, a custom fitted Driver, set of Irons, Hybrid, Wedge or Putter can undoubtedly add yardage, feel and forgiveness but in conjunction with lessons big gains are achievable, if you understand what you are trying to do or where your bad shot comes from then you have a chance, Lessons can be really technical with a lot of information or if you prefer not so in depth and more drill and exercise based, every individual is different and subsequently learns in different ways.
Lessons will also be designed for each person's individual characteristics, there are lots of ways to swing the golf club, just look at Tour players for example. We just want to work with each golfer to enhance their enjoyment of what can be a very frustrating game, so why not book some lessons this winter or put them on your Xmas list.
We are offering 4 Lessons for £60 from now up until Xmas alongside our normal packages and Xmas vouchers are available.

2016 Launch of NIKE and New PING G Range
We will be receiving our fitting and demo equipment for this range very shortly, ahead of the February launch. Nike are really producing some excellent and innovative equipment now, over the last few years we have had tremendous success with the whole range, I have tried the new Vapor Fly range and this will continue the company's growth in golf. They are now a major player in the golf industry and only going to get bigger, some of the new products in the pipeline are really exciting, the new RZN golf ball being one of them for sure, these will be arriving mid-February. PING have also announced this week the replacement for the very popular G30 range, this new G range will be launched in mid-February. The G30 has been an excellent product and offered great performance with the introduction of Turbulators, the new range will expand on this success in the Drivers, Fairways and Hybrids along with a couple of very interesting additions, a stretch 3 wood which will be aimed more at tee shots and a G Crossover iron which is between an iron and hybrid, the new iron will introduce the COR-Eye technology that has been successful in the G Max iron, it also has a very different look compared to the traditional dark gun metal Ping finish. We will have a full fitting cart and range of demos available by the launch date.
