Hello golfers,
It's Masters Week! The first major of 2016 gets underway this Thursday, this is without date a great spectacle to watch, the course always looks amazing and its design produces plenty of birdies and eagles along with the odd catastrophe, I really do think this will be a great watch this year with plenty of the top golfers having had a great start to the year, it's always hard to pick a winner in Major because there are so many top players now, without anybody really dominating for a period time, this can be backed up by how often the world no 1 ranking changes. I just think the standard is so high at these top tournaments now, which does usually make for great viewing, Augusta does have a history of throwing up the odd surprise winner also, so let's just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
Andre Pringle was the overall Medal winner on Saturday shooting 85-16 =69 to also take Division II, Chris Hawkins 76-6 = 70 won Division I and the Best Gross helped by an Eagle Two on the Par 4 10th Hole, I can't remember too many Two's on the 10th ! Well played. Chris Hides 82-12 = 70 continued his good recent form to finish just behind Chris on countback with Rob Edwards 83-12 =71 in third. Wayne Jupp 84-13 =71 was runner up to Andre in Division II with Dep Patel 86-14 =72 in third. Keith Manning 91-20 = 71 topped Division III from Eddie Gachette 91-19 =72 and Malc Wiles 92-20=72. The Two's Sweep winners were Chris Hawkins, John Zajac, Ian Weller, Chris Hides, Andy Phillips & Steve Ayre.
The opening Texas Scramble of the year for the Spring Cup was a very close affair, with the top five only separated by 1.7 shots, Darren Hunt, Wayne Gray Luke Lawson and Scott Thompson scored 59.1 for the narrowest of victories by 0.1 of a shot over Bruce Anthony, Faz Mohammed, Denis Suter and Steve Hurry. Sean Evans, Dave Bridges, Colin Crouch and Paul Rawlings 60.5 finished third just a head of Keith Manning, Pete Corley, Steve Nelson and Andy Everett 60.7. The nearest pins went to Dave Mackereth 2nd, Les Burton 7th, Danny Phillips 11th and Andy Phillips 17th.

Wilson Staff C200 Irons - Demo Day - Wednesday 27th April 2pm-6pm
We now have the new Wilson C200 irons in stock, this range of irons has had some excellent reviews in the golfing press since launch, it has a FLX Face which utilizes power holes wrapped around the face of the iron, this increases the amount of time the ball has on the face to gather energy, then springs it off for maximum distance.
If you are looking for more distance from your irons this could be the one for you.

New PING G Range, Demo Clubs and Fitting Cart - Now In Store
The new G range has expanded on the success of the G30 in the Drivers, Fairways and Hybrids along with a couple of very interesting additions, a stretch 3 wood which will be aimed more at tee shots and a G Crossover iron which is between an iron and hybrid.
The new iron has introduced the COR-Eye technology that has been successful in the G Max iron, it also has a very different look compared to the traditional dark gun metal PING finish.
The new G Driver has expanded on the aerodynamics of the G30, the turbulators have been refined and the new Vortec technology on the back of the club has reduced drag by 37% which will increase clubhead speed even further, with the introduction of the new Dragon Fly Crown which has strengthened the crown while saving weight which has been moved to re position the centre of gravity helping the MOI, basically giving more room for error across the face.
The fairway woods also benefit from this weight saving on the crown, this will make the fairways even easier to get airborne and along with the new face construction will deliver higher ball speeds and launch angles. There is also an SF Tec version to go with the new stretch model.
The Hybrids have also seen significant changes with the addition of turbulators and a thinner face to improve both club head and ball speeds. The Crossover club will offer the ball speed and launch of a Hybrid but with the control and spin of an iron and is a smaller profile than a hybrid but visually bigger than an iron.
I think you will agree there are some very exciting advancements and new technolgies over G30 which in itself was an excellent performing range, exciting times.

Nike Fly Demo and Fitting Cart - Now in Store
The new 2016 Nike Vapor Fly range is now in store, we have had some excellent feedback from this range so far from both Irons and Drivers. The Vapor Fly and Fly Pro Drivers have a reduced crown weight of 30% over the Vapor 2015 which has allowed the centre of gravity to be lowered promoting a higher launch with lower spin and higher moment of inertia giving more distance across a bigger area on the face, the face and compression channel have both been re engineered to help distance and performance on miss hits, these Drivers still come with the Covert Cavity Back design and Flex Loft for a wide variation of lofts and club face positions.
We also have the Vapor Flex 440 available for Demo, this club is not available until March and is the Driver I have been fitted for and will be playing this season, this striking looking club has 60% of its body made from RZN allowing the weight saved to be moved forward and low to offer even more performance all over the face, it also has the Hyperflight Face and new Compression Channel as both the Fly and Fly Pro models. We have a wide variation of shafts and would highly recommend that you arrange a Fitting to get the best out of these clubs. Click here to book yours.
There are also two new Irons to add to the very popular Vapor Pro Blade and Vapor Pro Combo irons that have carried over from last year, Vapor Fly Pro and Vapor Fly. The Fly Pro iron is aimed at the golfer who likes the slimmer look of the Blade or Pro Combo but needs a little more forgiveness, the longer irons 2,3,4,5 have a hollow cavity for high performance on off centre hits, the 6,7,8 have RZN pocket to combine stability with refined feel while the 9,P,A have a RZN cavity to allow more workability. The Vapor Fly offers maximum forgiveness and distance, the modern muscle design balances the CG in the centre of the face for the highest stability and maximum power, the RZN enhanced construction pushes the weight lower for a higher ball flight, these irons really are very user friendly and really do go.
If you are looking for more distance from your irons these are definitely worth a try, please click here to book a fitting or make an enquiry.
