Hello golfers,
Well done Danny Willett, they always say that the back nine on Sunday produces drama at the Masters, but I must say I didn't expect that! It did look to all intents and purposes that the Jordan Spieth was cruising to victory with nobody really offering a serious challenge but we all now know what happened and we have our first English Masters Champion since Sir Nick Faldo all those years ago!
I did read a very interesting stat before the last round, both Jordan Spieth and Kevin Na had hit the same number of greens in regulation through the first three rounds, Spieth was obviously leading but Kevin Na was LAST, just goes to show how important putting is, I think we all need to spend more time working on our putting!
It wasn't a great week for World Number One Jason Day or number three Rory McIIroy, both contended at times without really having their A game, it does show their level though as both still finished tied 10th.
Clint Allen and Danny Phillips produced the best two scores in Saturday's Stableford both scoring an excellent 40 pts, Danny topping Division I from Wayne Gray 38 pts and Matt Deegan 36 pts, Colin Lockwood 35 pts was runner up to Clint in Division II with Andy Hunt 34 pts in third, Joe Pasqualino 37 pts topped Division III on count back after a three way tie at the top from Nigel Pearce and Pete Roberts. The Two's Sweep winners were Andy Everett, Wayne Gray, Andy Phillips, Matt Deegan, Pete Howard, Chris Waller, Steve Leonard, Paul Cooper and Pete Roberts, while Trevor Walker scooped the Bonus Ball prize.
Good luck to both Scratch Teams who start their campaigns this Saturday with both teams facing Boston GC, the A team are away with the B Team being at home, it is also the Yellow Peril this Sunday, please give the shop a call to book a tee time.

Cleveland Wedge Promotion - Buy One Get One Half Price
A new wedge can make a big difference to the amount of spin that you generate on your shots around the green, whether it is full or partial shots this will improve your control around the greens and subsequently your scoring, over a period of time the grooves on your wedges will inevitably have lost their bite, we offer a full custom fit service on wedges also and it is incredibly important to get the correct bounce to suit your technique, if you have the wrong bounce this will definitely effect your consistency of strike especially on tight lies. We are running a promotion in conjunction with Cleveland where if you buy One Wedge you can buy another at 50% off, so why not book a fitting or take out a Demo next time you visit the club. |
How does £25 for your old battery sound?
We’ll give you £25 when you trade in your old battery against a new Lithium one, or a trolley with a Lithium battery. Lithium offerings are quicker charging, last longer and work out cheaper in the long run – so this is the perfect time to say goodbye to Lead Acid.
