Sunday Stableford
It was a busy week competition wise, despite the chilly biting wind which has become the norm on Bank Holiday weekends.
Bob Ford produced the performance of the day in Sunday's Stableford, top scoring with 40 pts.
Alan Buckby, 35 pts, took Division I from Paul Harford, 34 pts, and Paul Chiverton, 33 pts.
Pat Reidy ,38 pts, followed Bob home in Division II with Gary Kew, 37, pts in third.
John Lavender, 37 pts, won Division III from Malc Wiles, 36 pts, and Paul Cooper, 35 pts.
The Two's Sweep winners were Ben Templeman, Pete Howard, Ady Bonnett, Pat Reidy & Eddie Gachette.
Bank Holiday Team Stableford
Sean Briant, Mark Weston & Colin Burton scored 87 pts to secure the Bank Holiday Team Stableford from John Zajac, Steve Leonard & Dave Lamb, 84 pts, with Keith Manning, Pete Corley & Nick Burbridge, 82 pts, in third.
Paul Day scooped the whole Two's Sweep being the only person to secure the magic number.
Mid Week Stableford
Steve Butler, 38 pts, won Division I in the first Mid Week Stableford of the season from Danny Huddlestone and Ben Templeman, both on 36.
Dave McQuillen, 39 pts, took Division II from John Lavender 36 pts and Clive Springham 30 pts. The only Two's Sweep winner was Keith McCracken.
Scratch Team Season Has Started
The Scratch Team season started on Saturday, the A Team secured a home victory against Sudbrook Moor by four matches to two while the B Team lost a very tricky away game to Blankney by four and a half matches to one and a half, with both teams having been promoted last year there will be lots of tough matches at new venues this year. I am sure we can keep up last years momentum though.

We have partnered with Middleton Hall Golf Club which allows all of our Members to play at Middleton Hall Golf Club near Kings Lynn at no cost, please see details on display around the clubhouse for further details.
Taster Day 8th May
Just a reminder that Graham Hustler and Teaching Professional Nick are running a Rookie/Junior Golf Taster Day on Sunday 8th May.
- Open to all Juniors 18 and Under
- Fun and friendly day with Putting, Chipping and Driving Competitions and use of the Academy Course
Nick and Graham will be on hand to talk through and explain our extensive Junior program, there are two sessions 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. If you have children, grandchildren etc why not bring them along and let them have an experience of playing golf.
JUNIOR ACADEMY
Throughout the season there is a series of Coaching Sessions for both Rookies (10 and Under) and Juniors (11-18 years), please see the dates below.
- All sessions Free to members and only £3 a session to non Members
- Junior Membership for a year is a very reasonable £25 for Rookies and £64.75 for Juniors (including unlimited Golf on both the Lakes and Academy courses and all the Lessons)
Sunday 1st May, Wednesday 1st June, Sunday 5th June, Sunday 3rd July, Wednesday 27th July, Wednesday 3rd August, Sunday 7th August, Wednesday 10th August, Wednesday 17th August, Wednesday 24th August, Wednesday 31st August and Sunday 4th September.
There is also a host of competitions over the season to be played off the new Junior Tees on the Lakes Course.
NIKE DEMO DAY Wednesday 11th May 1pm-6pm
We have a Nike Demo Day on Wednesday 11th May from 1pm until 6pm, so why not come along and try the new Vapor range of clubs, Method putters and Engage wedges. Nike as a brand has made a massive move in golf over the last few years, this latest range of clubs is again packed with new technology to make the game easier with a broad range of clubs to suit a very wide range of abilities and requirements.
Summer Knockout Entries Now Open
Entry for the Summer Singles and Doubles Knockouts is now open, all entry envelopes are in the Pro Shop and the closing date for entries is Sunday 1st May.

Senior Captain's Parking Space
If you have been to the club recently, hopefully you will have noticed that you can park in the Senior Captain Mike Walton's parking space for £1 (or more if you wish) to be paid in the Members Bar, all funds raised will go to "The Broad Appeal" in support of the Motor Neuron Disease Association.
