C Team Captain Sean Briant lead from the front as they secured a four matches to two victory at home to North Luffenham GC on Saturday, the A team didn't fair so well though going down 5-1 away to Sudbrook Moor.
It is only a week to go now until The Open at Royal Troon, for me The Open is still the best Golf Tournament, there is something very special about it and I believe it is the one the best golfers in the world want to win. The courses that it is played on are more traditional and natural, the weather conditions can be more challenging even within a round, demanding a wider variety of shot making skills. This years will be no different and it is shaping up to be really competitive, with Dustin Johnson backing up his US Open victory by winning the WGC Bridgestone Invitational last weekend, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth were also in the mix, Rory coming third in the French Open despite not having his A game all week, on a slight side note the Le Golf National course looks to be a fantastic course to host the Ryder Cup in 2018, lots of great matchplay holes. This will be the first year that the Open will not be free to air on the BBC, I am sure Sky will do a great job but when Golf needs to attract more people to the game it is a big shame that it is not available to all.

Is it the 'Big Three' or the 'Big Four'?
Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
Next week's Open at Royal Troon could be a classic
