It looks like we will have to wait a little longer for the long awaited return of Tiger Woods as he has withdrawn from this week's Safeway Open. 

I do hope he makes a return shortly the game of golf still needs Tiger Woods in it. 

I am going to watch the British Masters at the Grove this Thursday, last year's event at Woburn was excellent and everybody involved did a great job in engaging spectators and the TV audience alike, we need more tournaments like this to grow the game.


  

Brendan and Martin take the Sly Salvers, Brendan Greville scored 76 to win the James Sly Gross Salver on Saturday finishing one ahead of both Ash Anthony and Matt Deegan while Martin Hodgkin 78-11=67 secured the Derek Sly Net Salver from Bruce Anthony 89-18=71 and Matt Deegan 77-6=7. 

This was the first time this event has been played since Derek sadly passed away last month, RIP Derek. 

The Two's Sweep winners were Ash Anthony, Darren Hunt and Nigel Bunn x2. John Unwin 39 pts topped Division I in Sunday's Stableford from Paul Harford 35 pts and John Zajac 34 pts, Gary Thornhill 38 pts took Division II with Chris Wright 34 pts in second and Giovanni Rizzo 33 pts in third while Luke Freeman 39 pts secured Division III from Alan Stokes 38 pts and Scott Thompson 36 pts. 

We had a couple of late qualifiers for the upcoming Two's Final in Gary Thornhill and Tom Bingley, with Chris Rippon, Paul Harford and Lee Watts x2 also securing a share of the Sweep. 

Just a quick reminder that the closing date for Winter League entries is Saturday 22nd October, please enter in the Pro Shop.

Entries are now open for the Winter League and close on Saturday 22nd October at 12pm, so if you are intending to play please enter in the Pro Shop as soon as possible.

The Two's Final is not that far away now, all of the qualifiers are listed here, there are still plenty of events left to qualify if you haven't made it yet, there will be both Gross and Net prizes on the day with a total prize fund in the region £800-£1000.
