Competition news

Once again there was some competitive scoring in the final event of Winter Stableford Series, Danny Huddlestone, Andre Pringle, Stuart Stirling & Darren Heriot all made late pushes for the overall but they could not catch Gary Kew who with his best four round score of 149 maintained his overall lead to take the series from Danny Huddlestone and Andre Pringle both on 146 and Stuart Stirling 142. 

Darren Heriot 41 pts topped Division I on Sunday from Danny Huddlestone and Paul Day respectively both on 39 pts, with Alex Gifford 39 pts taking Division II from John Lavender 37 pts and G Luparia 36 pts. Once again there was only one two, this time Steve Nelson scooped the pot on his own.

Aiming for a younger demographic

The European Tour have introduced some innovative ideas for the season ahead. The World Super 6 combined 54 holes of stroke play with a final-day knockout, whilst GolfSixes, which takes place later in the year, sees two-man teams battle it out over six holes in a group stage, before progressing to a final-day knockout.
