Captain's Day raises £3254.35 for The Alzheimer's Society

One hundred and ninety golfers played in Micky Burch's Captains Day on Saturday, it really was a fantastic day and I am sure everyone that took part really enjoyed the day and the presentation evening. The prize fund for the day was over £2,000 and all the winners can be seen below in the 'Competition Results' section, on top of that to raise that amount of money for the charity was incredible. Mick would like to thank everybody that took part and the many people that helped out on the day as well as all of the sponsors and generous donations for the raffle, including the year's membership donated by the Golf Club Owner Jane Hind.

"I had a fantastic Captain's Day on Saturday and with so many people to thank for their support, help and guidance. I apologise if you were missed in my Presentation Speech. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, every one of you contributed towards making one of the best sporting days of my life so memorable, and I didn't even get to play! The day will stay with me for the rest of my life. It's a privilege to have been the Captain for such a great day."

Daily Mail Foursomes

Anne Edwards & Ruth Rickett (picture) continued there very impressive run in the Daily Mail Foursomes last week, they are now though to the 6th round after a 4&3 victory over Boston West last week and only a couple of matches away from the Grand Finals.

Myself and our PGA Pro Am Medal Qualifier Ashley Anthony played in the Regional Qualifier at Kings Lynn GC on Monday, we didn't get off to the best start and were two over after eight holes but we were then 7 under for the next seven holes and went on to finish 5 under. Although leading when we left unfortunately we ended up in 8th place overall, we both had good day though on a very nice golf course in glorious conditions.

FREE Junior Coaching

Nick is running a host of coaching sessions throughout the summer starting with a Taster Day on Wednesday 23rd July 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, these sessions are then followed up with focused lessons concentrating on all aspects of the game spread out over the Summer Holiday. All of these sessions are completely FREE and available to both members and non members. If you would like any further information please pop in to the shop next time you are at the club.

Lady Captains Day-Saturday 9th August

Ladies Captain Roxy Jones is holding her Captain's Day on Saturday 9th August, the format is a FUN Stableford in Teams of Four and the entry sheet is on display in the Member's Bar. It is sure to be a great day and will be very popular so please come along and support both Roxy and her chosen Charity Peterborough Cancer Treatment Appeal (PCTA).
