Andy Everitt was top scorer in Sunday's Stableford. It was very windy on Sunday and this made scoring very difficult with the CSS going up to 73 on the day. Andy's 37 pts topped Division I from Matt Deegan 34 pts and Malc Cameron 33 pts. John Unwin 35 pts lead Division II with Steve Leonard 33 pts second and Ivan Boyce 32 pts third. Mark Weston 34 pts just edged out Colin Burton on count back to take Division III with Alan Clack 33 pts in third.

Two's were also hard to come by with only Sean Buckle, Chris Waller and Ady Bingham sharing the sweep.

The scoring was certainly lower in the Midweek Medal, Keith McCracken produced an excellent 86-21=65 for the best score on the day securing Division II from Des Chapman 98-26=72 and Paul Cooper 92-19=73. Lee Watts 76-6=70 topped Division I from Steve Leonard 85-14=71 and Ben Cottingham 77-5=72.

Two's were more plentiful on Wednesday with Dep Patel, Richard Drew, Ben Templeman, Dave Crouch, Allan Cross, Steve Brand, Lee Watts, Paul Cooper & Ian Booty all sharing the sweep.

Rory McIIroy returned to Number One in the World at the weekend with his victory in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone. He certainly is in a rich vain of form at the moment and will be looking to make it three tournaments victories in a row in this weeks USPGA Championship at Valhalla. That would be a great run, two Majors and his first World Golf Championship in between, he will be favourite going in but that is a big ask. His victories in both the Open Championship and at Firestone were under-pinned by some amazing driving, not only is he bombing it out there over 300 yards but he is hitting the fairway. At Firestone where the fairways are pretty narrow and the rest of the field are hitting irons, hybrids and fairways woods he was just pulling driver out. He has described the Nike Covert 2.0 Driver and RZN Golf Ball as "the best driver & ball combo I've ever had" he also actually use the standard 2.0 Tour Driver and stock shaft, you might say that this has no relevance to you, but the good thing about this driver is that it is also available in a Performance version which the rest of us can use! I must say that I have found the RZN ball to be very good also. It was not so good news for Tiger Woods as he had to retire from the tournament with back spasms, lets hope he is back soon because the game of golf needs a fit Tiger Woods back in it.
