Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, in this week’s mail we have all the recent Winter Series results, Shane secures victory with his Srixon clubs in Abu Dhabi, and we get our hands on the new PING G410 irons. Enjoy the read!

Competition news

Paul extends his lead…

Paul Day top scored in Saturday's Winter Stableford with 40pts to take Division 1 and extend his lead in the overall series while Bruce Anthony on 39pts secured Division 2. Andy Phillips edged out Chris Hides after both tied on 37 pts for second place in Division 1 while Steve Cooper on 38pts was runner up in Division 2 with Denis Suter on 36pts in third. The Twos Sweep winners were Mark Weston, Dep Patel, Danny Phillips, Brendan Greville, Nigel Brown, Paul Day, Andre Pringle & Andy Phillips.

The Captain's Drive In will now be played on Sunday 17th February (not the 24th February) and the last Winter Series Stableford on Saturday 16th February (not the 17th February).

Shane uses Srixon...

The European Tour race to Dubai got underway last week with the first event being held in Abu Dhabi. It was a great win for Shane Lowry who had lead from round one after an opening round of 62 but it did look like Richard Sterne was going to go past him with 9 holes to play. Shane Lowry uses the new Srixon Z585 and Z785 irons as well as Cleveland RTX-4 wedges, and our fitting system for Srixon will be here before the end of January.

If you haven't yet tried Srixon clubs then they are well worth testing, the irons have always offered fantastic feel, looks and workability but the new range of drivers, fairways and hybrids are also very exciting and have had fantastic reviews across all media platforms. The new Cobra F9 driver has also had a lot of great reviews and that has certainly been proved with feedback from all the members that have tried them over the weekend at the club, very user friendly with increased club head speed and distance. PING have also announced the release of the G410 range this week, these are not available yet but we do have the iron heads in the shop for fittings and trial.
