Great scoring in the Texas Scramble Andy Phillips, Steve Cooper, Sam Phillips & Bruce Anthony won Sunday's Scramble with the fantastic score of nett 55, well played all! Mick Burch, Brian Harrison, Con Lindgren & G Luparia scored 57.2 for second place just ahead of Keith Manning, Ash Anthony, Andy Everitt & Kev Rayner on 57.4. The scoring was also pretty hot in the Canadian Open. Rory McIIroy shot a last round of 61 which included a couple of dropped shots in the last three holes and actually needed a birdie at the last for a 59! It is fair to say he is coming into form just in time for the US Open at Pebble Beach which gets underway this Thursday. Will he be able to stop the major machine which is Brooks Koepka ? I am sure there are plenty of others that will have a say also! Well done to both the A and C Teams who both recorded victories on a very wet Saturday. The A Team won against Gedney Hill 4-2, and the C Team by 5-2 over Kirton Holme. Just a couple of quick reminders, we are hosting the Freekicks Charity Day this Friday 14th June which is a shotgun start at 11am. If you are planning to play this Friday please be off the course by 10.45am or leave it until after 4pm, thank you for your cooperation. Aalso remember it is Richie "Scouse" Lloyds Captains Day this Saturday, hopefully the weather will have dried up by the weekend.
