Competition news

Steve & Stefan take the Family Greensomes and Lee takes the Midweek...

Steve and Stefan Brand scored 38pts to win the Family Greensomes on Sunday ahead of Andy & Helen Everitt 35pts with Lee & Vicky Woodward on 33pts in third.

There was plenty of low scoring in the Midweek Medal with Lee Watts 72-7=65 taking Division 1 from Bruce Anthony 82-14=68. Division 2 saw a three way tie with Stephen Cazaly 83-16=67 coming out on top on count back from Jim Howard 86-19=67 and Keith McCracken 89-22=67.

The Twos Sweep winners were Nigel Brown, Tom Gillespie, Matt Deegan, Dep Patel & Keith McCracken.

It is the Club Championships this weekend with Ash Anthony defending the Gross and Giovanni Rizzo the Nett, if you would like to play please give the shop a call or enter via HDID, good lick to all.

Freekicks Golf Day - Friday 2nd August

The Freekicks Golf Charity Day has been rearranged for Friday 2nd August, if anybody would like to play in this event either individually, as a team of four or a team of three with an ex Posh Player then please ask in the shop for further details.

Cobra Demo Day

Wednesday 24th July 12pm-4pm

The Cobra Speedback driver has been a tremendous success in 2019 and we had such as successful Demo Day earlier in the year that we have booked another one on Wednesday 24th July.

If you would like a fitting on the day please contact the Pro Shop and we can book you in.

Putting things right

Hands up...

...if the only time you 'practice' your wedge play is when you hit a few shots at the start of your warm-up routine? Sadly, this isn't going to lead to a dialled in wedge game, which is one of the fastest ways to see your scores come tumbling down.

1 club. 3 swings. 3 distances.

Sounds easy, right? Well, it could be but first there are two things you must do in order to start saving shots.

1. Correctly gapped wedge system - What we mean by this is having an equal gap between each club in your bag, so you're never left trying to 'manufacture' a shot on the golf course (this is where large numbers start). Cobra's MIM wedges are perfect for exactly this reason, coming in a range of lofts from 50 to 60 degrees so you have every distance covered with your wedges.
