Ian Booty lead the way in Saturday's Bogey, securing the overall and Division III on count back from Mick Davies after both finished two up. We don't play this form of the game that often and talking to people, some seem to like it and some don't. It is certainly a different mind set, if you have a disaster hole then you only lose that hole but equally if you have a really good hole you only win one hole, it is good though to play different forms of the game.
Nigel Bunn 1 up won Division I from Darren Hunt and Ady Bonnet, who were both 1 down. Luke Lawson 1 down beat Club Captain Micky Burch on count back with Wayne Gray third on 2 down. Paul Bishop was third in Division III behind Ian and Mick. Two's were hard to come by with only Andy Everitt, Phil Corn and Pete Howard securing the magic number.
Sunday's Pairs Stableford produced some excellent scoring, especially in the the fourball of Kieron Tharme, Darren Heriot, Darren Hunt and Paul Pamphillon, off 3/4 handicap allowance Kieron and Darren scored 43 pts to win overall from Darren and Paul who were one point back on 42 pts, there was a four way on 40 pts finishing in the following order on count back, Andy Brown and Graham Howden 3rd, Sean Briant and Colin Lockwood 4th, Pete Roberts and Dave Gibson 5th, Luke Lawson and Wayne Jupp 6th. The Par 3's must have played slightly easier on Sunday with a host of Two's; Darren Heriot, Darren Hunt x2, Paul Pamphillon, Angelo Antonucci, Jim Dudley, Stuart Stirling, Pete Corley, Steve Nelson, Wayne Gray, Brian Harding and Con Lindgren x2 all earned a share and qualified for the final.
We have a Stableford this Saturday and a Texas Scramble this Sunday, don't forget the clocks change that day too! The following Saturday the 5th April it is the Rob Jackson Memorial Pairs, which offers a chance to win a years membership. If you would like to play in any of these competitions please contact the Pro Shop or click here to let me know

Spring Clothing
The clocks go forward this weekend so hopefully the warmer weather is not far away now, so why not freshen up your golf wardrobe with a new shirt or two. Or perhaps a funky pair of trousers, remember look good, feel good and you play good!
New Grip Bar
We have installed a Grip Bar in the shop now, I am sure this will make a big difference in how you select your grips from now on, grips that are too small for the size of your hand can lead to pulled shots with over active hand action and if the grip is too large it can stifle your hand action leading to pushed or sliced shots, also if your grips are worn you will almost certainly being gripping the club too tightly, especially in the winter when there is not so much moisture in your hand. We can now measure your hand and have a full range of grips with varying amounts of tape underneath for you to try first, if your grips are the wrong size this does not necessarily mean you have to invest in new grips, if they are in good condition we can add layers of tape underneath. We are running a Special Offer at the moment, if you have your irons re-gripped we will do your woods for FREE .
Fitting Wall
Custom fitting whether it is a driver, fairway wood, hybrid or irons can make a huge difference to your performance and subsequent enjoyment of the game, if you look at our new Fitting Wall next time you are in the shop you will get a small insight into the options available in heads, lofts, lie angles and shafts etc, so why not book a fitting and see if we can improve your performance, consistency and enjoyment.
