Greetings,

The Inaugural Mixed Open on Sunday was a great success! We had forty pairs take part in this our first Mixed Open. Local pairing of Jeremy Knight and Anne Edwards scored an excellent 45 pts but still only won on count back after Colin and Heather Bayliss matched their score. Paul Pamphillon and Roxy Jones 41 pts edged out Roy Blake and Theresa Starbuck after another countback for third place. Lee Jones and Helena Banks 39 pts finished fifth with the nearest the pin prizes going to Maureen Pickard and Paul Pamphillon. A big thank you must go out to everybody that participated, with special thanks to Paul and Tracey Hydes who not only got the event off the ground but then went on to organise and run the whole event, which I am sure everyone that played would agree was a great day. Let's not forget that over £300 was raised for the Captain's Charities. Let's hope this becomes a regular date in the diary for years to come.

Senior Captain Dave Deeping held his Captains Day last Thursday. The scoring was very competitive with Bob Mason scoring 44 pts to come out on top from Trevor Walker 42 pts, Barry Jones 41 pts and Mike Walton 40 pts. Ruth Rickett 41 pts won the Ladies prize with Maureen Pickard in second on 42 pts. A full list of the results can be seen here.

The A team suffered its first defeat of the season on Saturday away to South Kyme going down by three and a half to two and a half. They still sit on top of the league though and only need a point out of one of the two remaining home fixtures to clinch the title and promotion. The B team scored an excellent five one victory at home to top of the table South Kyme. It is now looking like their next game away to Sutton Bridge will be the title decider.

Con Lindgren's CAPTAINS DAY Saturday 11th July

The start sheet for Con's Captains Day on Saturday 11th July is now open for booking, this is sure to a great day and very popular so please book early to avoid disappointment. The start sheet is on display in the Member's Bar.

Club Championship 25th & 26th July

Forward booking for the Club Championship on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of July is now open, please book early to get your preferred times.  

Waste Area 16th Hole

The waste area on the 16th Hole is now back in play. This sandy area is classed as "Through the Green" and is NOT a bunker so your club may be grounded in this area. 

The Brain Tumour Charity - Holly Locke Memorial Fund

One of our members, Ian Locke, is doing a sponsored bike ride from Lands End to Marshall Meadow, which is a grand total of 630 miles between 6th and 12th September to raise money for the The Brain Tumour Charity - Holly Locke Memorial Fund. Ian tragically lost his daughter Holly on the 23rd November 2014 aged just 22, Holly was diagnosed with a tumour in February 14 which she successfully fought off only for a second one to be found around the stem of her brain.
