Congratulations to Jason Willis, Jason scored 40 pts to win the overall prize in Con Lindgren's Captains Day, 178 golfers played in what was a very enjoyable day, it was great to see so many people playing with plenty of banter flying about. The scoring was very close with a host of people on 39 pts, Mickey Moore won Division I from Paul Pamphillon 38 pts and Lee Jones 37 pts, Carlton Grogan 39 pts topped Division II from Dave Catling 38 pts and Les Burton 36 pts. Stefan Brand 39 pts won Division III on count back from Stuart Coleman with Bruce Anthony 38 pts in third. Anne Edwards 34 pts secured the Ladies prize from Ruth Rickett and Roxy Jones on 33 pts. I am sure Con would like to thank everybody that took part and the army of people that helped out on the day.

The start sheet is now up in the Members Bar for Sue Stampers Ladies Captains Day on Saturday 1st August, again that is sure to be a great fun day, so please get your name down to avoid disappointment.

Scratch Team

It is a big weekend for the A & B Teams with both teams playing against Sutton Bridge GC, the A team will secure the title and promotion with a victory at home while if the B team match is a real title decider, if we can secure a victory which obviously won't be easy, but that would put us in poll position to also win the league, good luck to all involved.

Club Championship 25th & 26th July

Forward booking for the Club Championship on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of July is now open, please book early to get your preferred times.  

Can Jordan Spieth pull it off ? He continued his amazing run of form with victory in the John Deere Classic last weekend, he was actually in danger of missing the cut after a level par first round 71, but after shooting 64 on Friday and 61 on Saturday was leading after three rounds eventually winning in a play off with Tom Gillis. Jordan is going for three consecutive Major wins this week in the Open Championship at St Andrews and who back against him on current form, with Rickie Fowler winning the Scottish Open we could be in for an American invasion. It will be a great spectacle as always and should make for great viewing.

Waste Area 16th Hole

The waste area on the 16th Hole is now back in play. This sandy area is classed as "Through the Green" and is NOT a bunker so your club may be grounded in this area. 

The Brain Tumour Charity - Holly Locke Memorial Fund

One of our members, Ian Locke, is doing a sponsored bike ride from Lands End to Marshall Meadow, which is a grand total of 630 miles between 6th and 12th September to raise money for the The Brain Tumour Charity - Holly Locke Memorial Fund. Ian tragically lost his daughter Holly on the 23rd November 2014 aged just 22, Holly was diagnosed with a tumour in February 14 which she successfully fought off only for a second one to be found around the stem of her brain.
