We had an excellent entry for the first of the Winter Series Stablefords on Saturday, the scoring was also very good with Sean Buckle 41 pts top scoring in Division I from Paul Day 40 pts and Ben Templeman 38 pts, Danny Huddlestone 34 pts topped Division II from Mark Weston and Bruce Anthony both on 33 pts, remember there are five more individual Stablefords left in this series with the best four scores counting for the overall prize. The Two's sweep winners and early qualifiers for next year's final were Ben Templeman, Sean Evans, Chris Hides, Paul Harford, Paul Day, Terry Hawkins, John Zajac, Luke Lawson, Mark Weston, Alan Stokes & Keith Manning.
The Presentation Night Dinner is on Saturday 14th November, tickets are available from the Members Bar at £10 per person to include a Carvery, this is always a good night to celebrate all the competition winners and catch up with everybody.
I forgot to mention the Race Night in last week's newsletter, this was an excellent night and despite not as many people attending as hoped there was a great atmosphere in the Members Bar and over £500 was raised, well done to everyone that contributed to make the night a success.
Winter Wheels Trolley Policy
It is the that time of year again as Winter approaches that there is a possibility of Trolley restrictions, so from Monday 2nd November please contact the Pro Shop in advance to check on the situation and be aware of the Lakes notice board.
If there are Trolley restrictions it will be approved Winter Wheels or in the case of severe weather No Trolleys, please also keep Trolleys behind the White Lines, information is also available via Twitter @TGCInfo and Facebook Thorney Lakes Golf Club.
Winter Series Stableford's
We are running a Winter Series of Stableford's starting on Saturday, 31 October, there will be six events please see dates below. Entry will be £20 to cover entry to all events including Two's Sweep, there will be prizes in Two Divisions for all events and overall prizes at the end for the leading scores with the best four out of six to count, don't worry if you can't play in all of them you can enter each one individually also and if you play in a minimum of four this qualifies for the overall prizes. It will be arrange your own games and book a tee time. The idea is to offer some competitive golf over the winter period along side the Winter League, please ask in the Pro Shop for more details.
